A Journey of Dedication and Achievement:
Mr. Wing Leong CHUNG's 30 Years with NFF(CWB)
In October 1991, Mr. Wing Leong CHUNG (阿鍾) embarked on a journey that would last over three decades. He joined the Microelectronics Fabrication Center (MFC), the precursor of NFF, as one of the earliest members. At the young age of 25, Mr. CHUNG poured his heart and soul into the facility and became an integral part of its growth and success.
His hard work and dedication were recognized when he was promoted to engineer in 2005, overseeing the daily operations of the entire NFF. Throughout his journey with NFF, he witnessed its growth from Phase I to Phase II, its expansions of the NFF Enterprise Center, the TSV Process Laboratory, the Deep RIE Process Center, and the Nanofabrication Demonstration Laboratory (NDL). Each development of NFF was imbued with his countless efforts and unwavering commitment.
Mr. CHUNG's hard work and scientific management were crucial in the expansion of NFF's staff and equipment. The number of major equipment expanded from a few to nearly 70, supporting a wide range of research directions that responded to the faculty's needs. His contributions did not go unnoticed, and he was rightfully recognized with the Merit Award in The HKUST President's Outstanding Service Award 2007/08.
As he bids farewell to NFF on April 13th, 2023, we cannot help but feel a sense of gratitude for his unwavering dedication and excellent achievements. We are deeply grateful for his contribution to the development of the Hong Kong semiconductor industry. We wish him all the success in his future endeavors and hope he continues to shine wherever he goes.
The green hills may remain unchanged, and the clear water may flow on, but Mr. CHUNG's presence will be greatly missed. We look forward to seeing him on his new journey.
